第一句：
　Shockingly the murderer was sentenced to only ten years in prison.
　（令人震驚的是，那名殺人犯只被判十年有期徒刑。）

關鍵字：
　1. murderer　謀殺犯,兇手
　2. sentence　刑期；判刑
be sentenced to death　被判死刑
be sentenced to life [imprisonment]　被判無期徒刑（終身監禁）
be sentenced　to 時間 in prison　被判...有期徒刑
　The assassin was sentenced to death.
　（刺客被判死刑。）

第二句：
　he set the alarm to go off at exactly 5 AM.
　（他把鬧鐘設定在早上五點整響啟。）

關鍵字：
　1. alarm　鬧鐘；警報;警報器
= alarm clock　鬧鐘
　The doorkeeper gave the alarm as soon as he saw the smoke.
　（守門人一看見冒煙就發出警報。）
　2. go off　發出聲響；爆炸
　The time bomb will go off in ten seconds.

第三句：

**本句也可改寫成：

第六句：
