一週實用例句介紹

第一句：
　Though he's rich now, Mr. Jones once made a living by collecting garbage.
　（雖然窮司先生現在很有錢，他曾靠撿垃圾為生。）

關鍵字：
　1. rich　富有的
　The country is rich in resources.
　（這個國家資源豐富。）
　2. make a living by V-ing　靠...為生
　The family who made a living by fishing.
　（這個家庭已捕魚為生。）
　3. collect　收集

第二句：
　The city finally built some streetlamps to light the path in the park.
　（該成是終於設立了一些接登，照亮公園裡的小徑。）

關鍵字：
　1. streetlamp　街燈;路燈
　2. path　小徑
要表達「公園裡的小徑」，在英文裡必須將地方百道具偉，行程"the path in
the park"

第三句：
　the fan isn't working because you forgot to plug it into the wall.
　（電風扇不會動，因為你忘了插插頭。）

關鍵字：
　1. fan　風扇；扇子
　She cooled herself with a fan.　　　　　　
　（她用扇子納涼。）
　2. plug　插頭；把...插上插頭
socket　【電】插座
　Just put the plug in the socket and switch on the machine.
　（只需將插頭插入插座並開動機器就行了。）

第四句：
　Bill used to drink two cups of coffee to boost his energy everymorning.　　　　　　　
　（比爾以前每天早上都要喝兩杯咖啡來提振精神。）

關鍵字：
　1. used to V　過去嚐嚐做...
　Kent used to go to night clubs on the weekends, but now he prefers to stay home.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
　（肯特以前週末時常跑業店，但現在他比較喜歡待在家裡。）
be used to N / V-ing　習慣作...
　Lily is used to drinking a glass of milk every morning when she getsup.
　（歷歷習慣每天早上起床就喝一杯牛奶。）
　2. boost　提高；增加
　3. energy　經歷；力量

第五句：
　John embarrassed himself with a slip of the tongue at the dinner party.　　　　　　　　　　　　
　（約翰在晚厭食說錯話，讓自己十分困窘。）

關鍵字：
　1. embarrassed　窘的,尷尬的
　2. slip　華導；師言
a slip of the tongue　說錯話

第六句：
　Don't doze off in class.
　（別在上課時打瞌睡。）

第七句：
