一週實用例句介紹

第一句：
　During autumn in cold places, a layer of dry leaves often covers the ground.
　（寒冷的地方在秋天時路上時常覆蓋著一層枯葉。）

關鍵字：
　1. autumn　秋天
fall　（每）秋天
說明：這兩各自都可代表秋天，不過美式多用"fall"這各自，另外還有各有趣
的用法，"Waterfall"是瀑布的意思。
　2. a layer of　一層
　3. leaf　葉子
富庶行是"leaves"

第二句：
　The typhoon caused damage on a large scale across the country.
　（颱風對全國造成很大的損失。）

關鍵字：
　1. typhoon　颱風
　2. damage　損害；損失
　3. scale　規模
on a large scale　大規模的
on a small scale　小規模的

第三句：
　When doing laundry, don't forget to separate the lights from darks.
　（洗衣服的時候，別忘了把淺色和深色的衣服分開來。）

關鍵字：
　1. do the laundry　洗衣服
不可說"wash the laundry"
不過洗衣機的英文卻是"washing machine"中間也可加上-hyphen符號變成"washing-machine"
　2. separate A from B　將A與B分開

第四句：
　Yesterday, John parked his car on the street before he went to the convenience store to pick up some drinks.　　　　　
　（昨天，約翰去便利商店買飲料前將自己的車停在路邊。）

關鍵字：
　1. park one's car　停車
　My car is parked over there.　　　　　　　
　（我的車子停在那邊。）
　2. convenience store　便利商店　
另外再補充幾個不同行式的購物商店：
mall　大型購物中心
department store　百貨公司
supermarket　超級市場
grocery store　雜貨店
flea market　跳蚤市場
　3. pick up　購買
　While you're at the grocery store, please pick up some milk and eggs.
　（你去雜貨店的時候，請買些牛奶和雞蛋。）

第五句：
　The class leader informed us of the delay of the make-up exam.
　（班長通知我們補考延期了。）

關鍵字：
　1. class leader　班長
　2. inform someone of something　通知某人某是
　3. make-up exam　補考

第六句：
　Can I access the Internet from this computer?
